The monument is 42.3 meters high, 7 meters wide and 5 meters thick, and the front is inlaid with large gold characters in Deng Xiaoping's handwriting. The main building has a glazed tile roof, granite façade, and marble window frames. The north and south sides are carved with a 2.5-meter-square granite relief of "Sun and Moon Together".
